GREETING IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST
BEFORE I GO FURTHER THE THEME OF GODs MESSAGE IS DESIGNED FOR GREATNESS
INTRODUCTION
When we study the Bible we notice one important fact that can change almost your entire theology, God uses what we believe about ourselves to get to us, God uses our surrounding to get to us, God uses our culture to get to us, God uses our now to show us what we can become next.
The early church culture was different from us, people believed in mysticism, philosophy, and theology. When we look into it the only one thing that brought these three together was the idea of the ‘end times’everyone believed that one day all of this will come to an end but they didn’t know how.
Those that chose to believe in Jesus Christ were taught a new word ‘Eschatology’. This is a word that shaped our understanding of the last days. Eschatology means the study of the end times, Eschatology is the study of the apocalypse, Armageddon, Rapture, the coming of Jesus and the reign of Jesus on earth. Eschatology is the study of the end times.
Paul began teaching Eschatology after he received Jesus Christ in his life, why? Because Paul understood that Eschatology is no longer just a study but a lifestyle, we are living in our Eschaton.
The bible says “In the Last days…”’in the Eschaton…’”I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh”
Paul found it imperative for people to know that they are no longer waiting for the end times, but the Eschaton is here already.
I was tempted to title today's message with the following phrase “IN YOUR GENESIS THERE IS A REVELATION TO YOUR ESCHATOLOGY”
GENESIS MEANS THE BEGINNING/ORIGIN
REVELATION MEANS ENLIGHTENMENT
ESCHATOLOGY MEANS THE END
SO IN YOUR GENESIS, THERE IS A REVELATION TO YOUR ESCHATOLOGY.
What that means is that with whatever pain, whatever sorrow, whatever hurt, whatever rejection, whatever abuse, whatever rape, whatever distress you are going through that is your revelation for Eschaton.
Situations are a Revelation to your Greatness.
Some of us are called into pain so that we can fight and rise and become what God called us to be.
Paul uses the phrase ‘more than an overcomer’ because he understood that in war you have to fight to overcome.
Some of you are called to fight but don’t give up because God is giving you a Revelation that will lead to your greatness.
For every season there is a fruit, for every season there is a fruit, though there might be winter and autumn but there is spring that is coming.
Some of us choose to build our houses in misery but the misery you faced is supposed to give you a revelation to your Greatness.
You are designed for greatness, greatness is your name.
DEATH IS NOT YOUR NAME, HURT IS NOT YOUR NAME, SHAME IS NOT YOUR NAME, POVERTY IS NOT YOUR NAME BUT GREATNESS.
YOU ARE DESIGNED FOR GREATNESS.
