Thank you!
If there is one thing that I have learned in this world is a
simple thank you. So many things in the world do not go a long way, cars crash,
money ends, man’s glory dies out, wealth comes to nothing, and purpose comes to
an end once one dies. Among so many things that are pointless comes one thing
that change people’s lives, which makes people see you as a different person,
which is a simple thank you.
Sara Tulloch contends that “thank you Is a polite formula
acknowledging a gift or service or an offer accepted or refused”
I don’t care what people say but sometimes all you have to
say is thank you. Some form of appreciation can change your life. This simple
polite formula can get you a job, it can gain you respect, and it can make you
a man or woman among many.
One thing I have learned is that our generation lacks this
formula because it has lost its meaning throughout the years, yet here’s the
thing, to every appreciated gift follows another. What am I saying you ask? A
blessing appreciated becomes a door to another blessing. We assume we have much
and have no need because of our physical possessions, let me enlighten you for
a second, if we cannot value our spiritual, solical or emotional connections
with other then we will fail to see the value of a gift or blessing presented.

I was watching a movie by the famous Denzel Washington
called John Q. The man holds the hospital and its doctor’s hostage just so that
they can replace his son’s heart because it was considered too big for him.
After many attempted murders, kidnaping and assaulting an officer his wish was
granted and they gave his son a new heart. After he stood at trial (court) he
found not guilty for assaulting an officer and attempted murder but found
guilty for kidnapping. When they were taking him away his son said “dad, thank
you!”.
It is through that thank you that the father saw how much
the son appreciated, it is through that thank you that the farther saw that his
son will become a man who will die for his family, and it is through that thank
you that the boy built his future.

How many of us say thank you to our parents? Pastors?
Friends? Doctors? The man you hated but saved you from a car accident? Have you
ever said thank you to a person who gave you life, God?
I am not trying to instil religion or some form of theology
but a sense of humility. My philosophy is that a simple thank you can open many
doors for you.
Thank you goes a mighty long way to a point that God himself
blesses you.
