INTRUDUCTION TO MY LATEST WORK 'PURPOSE'

"The kingdom is primarily a declaration and demonstration of God's power in action. God, as King, is beginning his spiritual reign on earth in the hearts and activities of his people (Jn 14:23, 20:22). He chooses to work out his purposes through those who have devoted themselves to him, He is involved in the world he created and comes into it with all power (Isa 64:1; Mk 9:1; 1Co 4:20). Yet we must not view this power in material or political terms - as if he is looking to prove himself through earthly wealth or military might. Instead, we must realize that God uses his power to effect spiritual change. His kingdom is not a political theocracy, in which God exercises his control and imposes his standards through an earthly system of government. God's kingdom is not a matter of social or political control over the kingdoms of this world (Jn 18:36). God does not intend at this time to save and reform the world through social and political activism, or through violence (Mt 26:52; see Jn 18:36, note). Until Christ returns to earth to overthrow the forces of evil (Rev 19:11-21), the world will remain an enemy of God - opposed to his people and his purpose (Jn 15:19; Rom 12:1-2; Jas 4:4; 1Jn 2:15-17; 4:4)

I have been teaching Life skill Program for sometime now and we have been touching the topic of 'Purpose', i have learned that people cannot distinguish the difference between passion and purpose. We believe that passion is purpose and purpose is passion, we don't realize that they are different. Passion can be controlled and conducted according to what you want to do at that moment and purpose is a task that is set aside for you. Passion can help you in living your purpose but it can also move you from living from you purpose, hence i said passion can be conducted according to what you want to do at that moment.

As people we need to understand our purposes. How does one find out what his/her purpose is? Well, i once wrote that "you need to find your identity in the bible because without finding who you are in the bible that you are just another person" (W. Seitshiro, 2014). The book that precedes this one is 'His will your way', there i teach that it is imperative for one to know the will of God for their lives for instance i noted "i have learned that religiosity comes in the picture when ministers of the word begin to super impose religious views upon people. Forcing them to fast, pray, eat, or drink what they believe is good and etc, while God called us to teach and equip the saints. In so saying, knowing the will of God is imperative, we need to know and understand the will of God."(W. Seitshiro, 2014, 98)

When we follow the will of God we automatically find out what we were designed or created for. Whoever you are wherever you are, you need to understand that you were created for a purpose. Money, houses, cars and fame say nothing about you unless God wants you to be there. Purpose is all about you doing what God created you to do, maybe preaching, running a race so that you can reach out to many, being rich so that you can clothe, feed and house others. Your purpose is driven by your passion and your passion should be pumped up by the word of God, the Holy Spirit and by the compassion that you have for people.

I always tell this story:-

When i went to bible school i had no idea what God is calling me to. I had no Clue whatsoever what God has planned for me. I began preaching and people received the Lord but somehow i felt like it was not enough i felt like i have to do more. 2012 when i finished at bible school i asked myself how am i going to do this? how will pastors know i exist so that they can hire me? how will i make money? I started searching online for what i can do the next year until i found a Christian gap year, i applied and i got accepted.

At that moment i did not know what is going to happen with me because i was running away from home so that people wont see that i dont know what my purpose is. 2013 i met people who challenged me, i started reading psychology books and grew even more and there i started writing and i found that i loved it so much and God started talking to me while i was writing and i started reaching out to people through blogs and social media and God encouraged me to work on a book. There i found my purpose, though i want to do more than writing and preaching, writing to the world so that they may know God is my purpose.

Earlier today at the life skill program i taught that life is a journey, an interesting journey that is. In this journey you make wrong decisions, wrong turns, and maybe fall from grace but as you move forward and continue living this wonderful life and grow God will gradually reveal firstly himself, then his will for humanity, where you fit in and your purpose. God is there to direct you foot steps in doing so you will find yourself in the Word of God and find your purpose.

Purpose is allocated, for instance when a person created a car he thought to himself that it is exhausting to walk everyday i need to design something to transport me from point A to B, a purpose was allocated before it was placed into action. When we were created God had a purpose for our lives and over the centuries it has worked, different people with different purposes. Therefore it is imperative to connect to God through faith so that we can find out what we were created for.

As we transition to the book, we need to understand that passion, talent, and creativity are different but they can help you in bringing growth in your purpose, yet they can also work against your purpose. Therefore keep in mind that God wants to direct your foot steps so that your passion, talent and creativity may work hand in hand with your purpose. Also remember that purpose will always make your broke but as you continue to work at it, you may become rich.

In this book purpose will be revealed by studying the book of Mark, Matthew, Luke, John, and exposing the parables. My intention is to show you the purpose of Jesus coming and the purpose of his teachings and where you and i fit in.
